I’d like to introduce you to one of the newest wedding trends..

WEEKDAY WEDDINGS!!!

So listen, weekday weddings were definitely a thing before the pandemic hit, but now more than ever we have seen a rise in weekday weddings. Due to all the executive orders, wedding cancellations, and reschedules, this has really impacted the availability of weekend weddings. I know as a Detroit wedding planner, it was a difficult process trying to reschedule Detroit wedding vendors all on the same dates that matched up with Detroit wedding venues.

And lets face it, at this point people are just ready to get married!

Let me start out by saying, weekday weddings are not for everyone.

Especially if you:

1. Have very traditional standards

2.Really want a lot of guests to attend

3. Most of your guests list live out of town/country

4. You really want a rocking, slamming, hype or  lit reception. (Whichever word you prefer to use) lol.

Financially, weekday weddings work out GREAT for couples, but not so much for guests. Guests typically find weekday weddings to be inconvenient. So, you have to kind of weigh what's more important to you. You could have your dream wedding with that amazing venue you absolutely fell in love with, that costs less by having it on a weekday. Saving money allows for you to have the best vendors for décor, videography, photography. These services can be by your top choice of vendors. They would also most likely be available because its a weekday.

Most importantly, they will be happy to obtain business on a weekday. In most cases, this also possibly opening the door for a discount!

Destination weddings are most likely to be during  the week. Family and friends that are able to afford the cost and able to take time off from work, will  make plans to attend because certainly, they wouldn't miss this for the world! These are going to be the exact sentiments for your Mon-Thursday wedding. So don't focus too much on moans and groans about it being such a inconvenience for them to attend, focus on your wants because after all, it is your day!

So, don’t dismiss the idea of having a weekday wedding, afterall having a weekday wedding may just work in your favor overall.
